Fee Changes Announcement

Schedules of fees are posted in all Consular offices and should be consulted, as fees are subject to change without notice. Fees must be paid by or on behalf of each applicant, regardless of age, and are non-refundable. They may be paid in U.S. dollars or Thai Baht equivalent at the current Embassy exchange rate, which is adjusted periodically. Payment may be made in cash or by credit card at the Embassy at the time of application.

Effective March 8, 2005 consular fees changes are as the follows:  

  • Passport security surcharge = $12
  • Determining Returning Resident Status = $400
  • Diversity visa lottery surcharge = $375
  • Immigrant visa security surcharge = $45
  • “L” Blanket petition fraud prevention fee = $500
