SOUTHEAST ASIA REGIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL HUB SMALL GRANTS PROGRAM
Call for Proposal Statements and Concept Papers
The purpose of the Southeast Asia Regional Environmental Hub’s small grants program is to award small grants to organizations in Asia in the areas of:

Promotion of wildlife and biodiversity protection

Forests and coral reef protection
-
Establishment of marine protected areas
-
Training and capacity building for environmental regulatory enforcement, including trafficking in wildlife, and management of protected areas and/or wildlife corridors
-
Energy security
-
Adaptation to, or mitigation of, the effects of climate change
-
Development of clean technologies
-
Promotion of the effective involvement of civil society in environmental policy deliberations
In addition, proposed projects should include a means for public outreach or participation to advance public support for the United States and its policies.
The Hub expects to award 5 to 6 small grants each for less than $24,999 USD, for a total of $125,000.
Interested grantees should prepare brief (1-page or less) submissions in English, including the following information:

Proposal purpose/objectives

Activities to be undertaken

Expected results and outputs
All applicants are also required to make their submission to the hub using Standard Form 424.
Interested grantees should submit proposal statements by e-mail to Hal Howard at HowardHH@state.gov; Selma Garrido at GarridoS@state.gov; and copy your local U.S. embassy point of contact. Grantees of selected statements will be requested to submit full proposals for further consideration.
DEADLINE for submissions is June 15, 2009.
