Department of State Office of the Historian: The Office of the Historian is responsible, under law, for the preparation and publication of the official historical documentary record of U.S. foreign policy in the Foreign Relations of the United States series. It researches and writes historical studies on aspects of U.S. diplomacy for use by policymakers in the Department and in other agencies as well for public information.
Foreign Press Center: The United States Department of State has Foreign Press Centers in Washington, D.C., New York and Los Angeles. The Foreign Press Centers support U.S. policies by helping foreign media cover the U.S. Their goal is to promote the depth, accuracy, and balance of foreign reporting from the U.S., by providing direct access to authoritative American information sources.
International Information Programs: State Department’s Bureau of International Information Programs (IIP) engages international audiences on issues of foreign policy, society and values to help create an environment receptive to U.S. national interests.
Library of Congress: The Library of Congress is the nation's oldest federal cultural institution and serves as the research arm of Congress. It is also the largest library in the world, with millions of books, recordings, photographs, maps and manuscripts in its collections.
National Archives: The United States National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) is an independent agency of the United States federal government charged with preserving and documenting government and historical records and is responsible for maintaining and publishing the legally authentic and authoritative copies of acts of Congress, presidential proclamations and executive orders, and federal regulations.
Supreme Court of the United States: The Supreme Court of the United States is the highest judicial body in the United States and leads the judiciary. Its website provides a wide range of information, including an overview of the Court, its docket among other issues and themes.
The White House: The official website of the White House providing the latest information on the President, Vice President and First Lady.
THOMAS: In the spirit of Thomas Jefferson, legislative information from the Library of Congress (THOMAS) was launched in January of 1995, at the inception of the 104th Congress. The leadership of the 104th Congress directed the Library of Congress to make federal legislative information freely available to the public.
