In Honor of His Majesty’s 60th Anniversary Accession to the Throne
The New Orleans All-Star Brass Band to Perform in
Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Nakhon Sri Thammarat, Surat Thani
September 25-29, 2006

In celebration of the 60th Anniversary of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne, the U.S. Embassy in Thailand proudly presents the New Orleans All-Star Brass Band, performing in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Nakhon Sri Thammarat, and Surat Thani from September 25 – 29, 2006.

The band will perform a mix of the favorite music of New Orleans, including Dixieland, blues, and gospel, and audiences will be thrilled by their foot-tapping music.

The New Orleans All-Star Brass Band, aka The Survivors, came together in November 2005. They travel the world to thank countries for their contributions to the victims of the Hurricane Katrina disaster.

Members are Rasheed Ali Akbar and Eric Traub on tenor saxophones, Lionel Batiste Jr. on bass drum, Kenneth Terry on trumpet, Corey Henry and Charles Leo Joseph on trombones, Jeffrey Hills Sr. on tuba, and Ajay Mallery on snare drum.

The New Orleans All-Star Brass Band will perform at the following venues:

Chiang Mai: The Convention Center, Chiang Mai University, Monday, September 25 at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free. For reservations, call 053-944-805 or 053-211-724.
