Trio Chicago & Friends Free Concert Series
September 14-18, 2009

The U.S. Embassy in Bangkok is proud to present Trio Chicago & Friends in Thailand.  The renowned American music ensemble, which has been praised for its annual tours to remote parts of the globe as U.S. cultural ambassadors, will be in Thailand from September 14-18, 2009 where they will perform free concerts in Khon Kaen, Roi-et, Mahasarakham, and Bangkok.

Trio Chicago & Friends is comprised of violinist Elliott Golub, Marlou Johnston on viola and violin, Kay Kim on piano, Laura Hamm on flute, and soprano vocalist Katherine Keberlein.  The group has been consistently recognized for its stylistic versatility in concerts, as well as for its master classes and teaching interchanges with local students.  The group features American music by composers such as Gershwin, Ellington, Bernstein, Copland, Pat Metheny, Cole Porter and Irving Berlin.
