U.S. Host Food and Wine Seminar in Bangkok
Ambassador John joined the U.S. Office of Agricultural Affairs, the U.S. Meat Export Federation, and importers of U.S. seafood and wines in hosting a U.S. food and wine seminar series for Bangkok chefs and food and beverage managers on August 31 and September 1, 2009.
The educational events included an executive lunch featuring U.S. products for hotel general managers, and executive chefs at Centara’s premier “55 Restaurant”. Guest speakers provided insights to chefs and meat professionals on generating value using U.S. meat in their establishments. A wine educator introduced a spectrum of U.S. wines available through local importers to beverage managers and presented food pairing opportunities.
Thai importing firms, including Jagota Co., Ltd. (beef and seafood), Canpac Beverages Ltd. (Oregon State wines), Great Prestige Co., Ltd. (Washington State wines), the California Wine Co., Ltd. and Vanichwathana Co., Ltd. (California wine), joined to sponsor the event for over 140 Thai food professionals.
