The Role of the Embassy Spokesman
During their trip to Khon Kaen with the Ambassador, U.S. Embassy Press Attaché Michael Turner and Media Specialist Channarish Boonpharod stopped by at the Instructional Resource Center, Khon Kaen University, on the afternoon of November 26, 2008, to talk about the role of the U.S. Embassy's Media Unit to a group of 40 students majoring in Public Relations and faculty members of the university's Public Relations Network. The two speakers captivated the audience with a lively discussion about the vital role of the Embassy's Media Unit in releasing news and information to the press, how to handle media inquiries, and the secrets of successful PR.
