Librarians and Graduate Students Learns about Copryrights and Fair Use of Digital Resources

Regional Information Resource Specialist Linda K. Parker and Information Resource Center Director Supiengpitch Bhuyatorn traveled to Khon Kaen University on May 7 to speak about copyrights and fair use of digital resources at the University’s Instructional Resources Center. Ms Parker, a resource specialist who consults for U.S. Embassy’s Information Resource Centers in Burma, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore and Thailand, talked to approximately 20 librarians and graduate students of Information Science about the latest trends in digital resources, how to establish and manage digital collections, providing and marketing digital resources, copyrights and fair use of digital resources in educational environment, and useful U.S. government resources. They also visited the American Corner in Khon Kaen and discussed American Corner resource development with its director, Associate Professor Dr. Smarn Loipha.
