Political Section

The Political Section is responsible for the conduct of the security, defense, and alliance aspects of U.S.-Thai bilateral relations. The section's staff monitors domestic political developments and serves as the Embassy's primary contact with the National Assembly, political parties and provincial governments. This section is responsible for tracking human rights issues, and works with the Royal Thai Government to facilitate the resettlement of refugees.
